Leaked Images Suggest a New Fitbit Edge Is Coming
Leaked images reported by The Verge point to an unannounced Fitbit Edge, a screen-equipped tracker that appears to sit between the screen-free Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5. The leak suggests up to seven days of battery life, GPS, and support for a few apps like Google Maps and YouTube Music, with both Android and iOS compatibility. None of this is officially confirmed by Google. Trump Creates a ‘Super Intelligence Force’ and Names an AI Czar
President Trump announced a new federal task force called the Super Intelligence Force on October 4, naming Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton to lead it as AI czar, according to Engadget. The group, which also includes FTC chair Andrew Ferguson, Defense Department official Emil Michael, and OPM director Scott Kupor, has 120 days to produce a report on AI risks and opportunities. It reports directly to Trump and Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

New Forensic Evidence Backs Ancient Egyptian ‘Retainer Sacrifice’
A re-examination of skulls from First Dynasty-era mass burials found that at least 39% showed signs of fatal blunt-force trauma, according to research covered by Ars Technica. Purdue University researcher Roselyn Campbell reexamined 46 skulls held in Cambridge’s Duckworth Collection, originally excavated over a century ago, and identified linear fractures consistent with deliberate killing. The findings support the long-standing theory that officials and artisans buried around First Dynasty kings’ tombs were sacrificed to serve the ruler in the afterlife.
